Forty-Nine-Mile pin am I,
A seagull that will never cry.
Enameled here I’m framed within:
Black-nickel-coated seagull pin.
Pinned to my human’s travel sack,
I ride with him; I don’t look back
While sweeping forward with my wing:
A seagull that will never sing.
We travel near, we travel far
On foot, by rail, bicycle, car,
Sometimes by ferry on the Bay:
A pin that’s now and yesterday.
